Kate Middleton just sported our favorite holiday hair trend

This winter, we're taking major style cues from the royals (dainty rings and mustard dresses and pleated skirts, oh my!). Add to the list: Kate Middleton's chic velvet bow, which she wore around her ponytail on a visit to a Neuroscience Lab in London last week.

Yep, Middleton ditched her signature voluminous blowout in order to pair the accessory with her matching burgundy skirt and blazer with black turtleneck, tights and pumps—the latest in a spree of fun accessory choices for Middleton.

And don't say we didn't warn you! We've been crushing on velvet accessories (see what we did there?) since the beginning of this year. Now with holiday party season right around the corner, we're pulling a Duchess of Cambridge and breaking out the bric-a-brac box.

While the royal mom of three wore her black velvet bow around her signature bouncy brown locks that were pulled back in a low pony, might we suggest a simple double knot with both ends loose? Or woven into an effortless braid for the end-of-year office shindig? The possibilities are endless...
