Best beauty looks at the 2018 CMA Awards

The biggest stars in country music took the red carpet in Nashville on Wednesday night for country music's biggest night out: the annual Country Music Awards.

As with any awards show, the night was filled with its fair share of notable moments, including Carrie Underwood's soulful performance of 'Love Wins,' and Jason Aldean's remarks on the recent Thousand Oaks shooting. But, of course, it wouldn't be a red carpet event -- or a country music show, at that! -- without a standout red carpet.

Whereas the CMAs beauty is frequently packed with sky-high hair, pounds of makeup and lots and lots of glitter, this year's red carpet was a little bit more understated. Country stars such as Maren Morris, Jennifer Nettles and Hillary Scott took the annual awards show with subtle smokey eyes, simple lips and effortless hairdos -- a refreshing take for this year's show.

Meanwhile, Kellie Pickler and Bebe Rexha turned back the clock with old Hollywood waves, as Nicole Kidman's wispy bun perfectly complemented her black ruffle dress.

Let's be honest -- Keith Urban also made our list of best hair, too!

But it was country queen Carrie Underwood who wowed us with her monochromatic lips, sultry cat eye and bouncy waves. As one of the hosts for the awards show, Underwood had many costume changes -- and she stunned in every single one.
