Duchess Kate risks wardrobe malfunction in the wind at Princess Eugenie's wedding

Updated

Royals and celebrities alike turned up to celebrate Princess Eugenie's wedding on Friday at Windsor Castle's St. George's chapel. Despite the happy sentiments, the weather proved quite a challenge for the 850 plus guests at the nuptials, many of whom had to battle strong gusts of wind as they arrived to the ceremony.

Fascinators were flying, Pippa's chic chignon nearly came undone, while airborne top coats and skirts nearly made for some very uncomfortable photo-ops.

Duchess Kate, too, fell victim to the wind and suffered a very Marilyn Monroe-style malfunction of her own. The mother-of-three, who donned a raspberry pink Alexander McQueen dress to the nuptials, was leaving the ceremony alongside Prince William, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip when her skirt flew up in a gust of wind.

The duchess recovered, however, quickly pinning down the bottom of her dress. Even top models such as Naomi Campbell and Cara Delevingne proved they aren't immune to the harsh British weather, as other high-profile guests struggled to keep their outfits in order for the ceremony. Seems like Duchess Meghan had the right idea with her heavy overcoat!
