Bridal Fall 2018: Reem Acra creates a collection for dreamers

Updated

When Reem Acra and Preston Bailey come together to put on a bridal show, you know you're in for a full night of glamour.

For Fall 2019, Reem Acra took over the New York Public Library to showcase her latest bridal collection, taking cues from the modern bride. "The Celebration Collection" was diverse with shorter-length cocktail dresses to full ball gowns that were bodiced at the waist. Shying away from the usual nuptial palette, Acra infused mints, peaches, metallics and baby blues into her designs.

The most statement-making element about the collection was more about the beautiful fabrications than it was the floor-length veils. The idea of lace layered with tulle and the integration of flower appliques showed off the complexity of the brands' craftsmanship.

“The idea of creating the world’s most over the top- glamourous bridal dinner party was an idea I have wanted to do for years. I loved the idea of combining my ready-to-wear with bridal for the Celebration collection- injecting color and fun into the show. Partnering with Preston to create the set was a true honor and joy, as a Preston Bailey event is an event like no other. I can think of no better complement to my gowns than the glamorous fantasy world that he has created in the New York Public Library, “says Acra in the brand's press notes.

Overall, it was a collection that girls who dream want to live in.
