Melania Trump ditches her $600 Manolo Blahnik heels for $50 Zara flats to watch kids play soccer in Malawi
Quick outfit change!
Melania Trump made a glamorous entrance in Malawi on Thursday where she was joined by the country's first lady Gertrude Maseko as part of the second leg of her 5-day, 4-country visit to Africa.
Sporting a $745 camel-hued Joseph dress and her trusty suede Manolo Blahnik heels, the first lady kicked off her tour of the southeastern African country.
FLOTUS began her day at Chipala Primary School by sitting in on English lessons and touring the facilities. As part of her "Be Best" campaign, she donated numerous textbooks, school supplies and soccer balls to the children at the school. Later on in the day, Melania traded in her designer heels for her $49 Zara flats to watch the school children take part in a soccer match.
It was a sensible choice given the controversy the first lady's caused in the past for her sartorial choices on her humanitarian trips.
Yesterday's outing to Ghana also saw a footwear swap, a change that even Twitter was surprised to see.

Some were quick to call out how comfortable -- literally -- Melania looked.
"I found it notable that when she was on another continent from her husband, Melania Trump was smiling and wearing comfy shoes. Have you *ever* seen her do either around him?" wrote one Twitter user. "Genuine smiles plus good walking shoes," another commented.
I realize that this may seem incredibly shallow, but I found it notable that when she was on another continent from her husband, Melania Trump was smiling and wearing comfy shoes. Have you *ever* seen her do either around him?
