Bradley Cooper cast his own dog in ‘A Star Is Born’ and we can’t even

Let there be zero doubt: we wish we could have our furry friends by our side all day long—if only our jobs allowed it. And it turns out that celebrities, well, they’re just like us. If you’re Bradley Cooper, that is.

The actor and director revealed that when it came to casting the all-important role of the dog in his film A Star Is Born, he turned to his very own pooch, Charlie.

“There was no nepotism—I wanted this relationship with the dog,” Cooper told People at the film’s Los Angeles premiere. “[Jackson and Ally] don’t have a child together but they have a dog together, and I wanted it to be part of their story. I love dogs.”

Cooper joked that since getting his big break, Charlie has an agent and is too good for his old friend. “I don’t talk to him much anymore. He doesn’t return my calls. He always walks away from me unless I have food.”

Hey, it’s ruff (sorry, we had to) out there for a celebrity pup.
