NYFW: Lela Rose's Spring 2019 collection was made for the feminine socialite

Updated

While New York has been experiencing a particularly dreary fashion week in terms of the weather, Lela Rose's Spring 2019 collection brought a welcome dose of color to the city.

Taking place on Grand Banks, a historic wooden schooner turned oyster bar, the designer presented her latest collection as guests received fresh leis and lobster rolls upon arrival.

Ms. Rose's Spring 2019 offering was one of her best to date. Full of vibrant coral, sky blue and lemon yellow hues, each of the looks onboard seemed to be begging for a party to attend.

"We really know what we do well and what's right for us," Rose explained to AOL when asked how this collection differs from previous collections. "There is definitely more casual-ness [in this collection]. These are dresses that could be worn with tennis shoes and flats, and are very easy and casual, but still with our luxury vein running through."

The designer went on to explain the essence of the Lela Rose woman.

"I think she is someone who is confident, sophisticated. She likes beautiful fabrics and she likes ease to what she wears. We're talking about ease in the world she lives in. She’s got a calendar filled with events, she's very social, so she’s always needing to be dressed. But there's an ease to that without the prim and proper fussiness."

From khaki trenches with plaid pipping to bold stripes and head scarves, we can't get enough of the chic and utterly joyful collection. Our favorite looks included a strapless coral gown with a stripped bodice and floral skirt and a 3/4 length sleeved white dress with transparent stripes that would make for about the chicest wedding dress we've ever seen.
