Prince William reveals Prince Charlotte and Prince George's favorite book

Prince George and Princess Charlotte may be two of the most famous tots in the world, but that doesn’t mean they’re too good for a good bedtime story.

Prince William stepped out on Tuesday at an event at Kensington Palace where he met beloved children's author Julia Donaldson, who just happens to be the writer behind Prince George and Princess Charlotte's favorite book.

"I know who you are. It's a big hit in our household, The Gruffalo." said the 36-year-old dad of three after shaking hands with Donaldson.

The popular book tells the story of a mouse on an adventure in a European forest, where he encounters a snake, owl and fox who all want to eat him. Donaldson's story has been ranked as one of Amazon's Best Sellers for Children's Books and also received the prestigious British Smarties Prize.

Donaldson is also known for Room on the Broom, a picture book about a witch who is helped by three animals after losing her wand.

Tuesday's event was to help raise awareness on the threat rhinos across Africa face due to the "global poaching crisis." The initiative placed 21 rhino sculptures around the city, decorated by various artists including Donaldson, to draw attention to the plight.

"We need the young generation to really understand,” the Duke of Cambridge explained about the author's efforts.
