Proenza Schouler made a triumphant return to New York Fashion Week with a highly-anticipated runway show on Monday night. The intimate gathering included the likes of Kate Bosworth and Anna Wintour amongst other A-list celebrities, welcoming back designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough following two seasons in Paris.
“The industry is such these days that everyone’s trying to figure out what’s a new way to move forward, to do things differently," explained Hernandez to Vogue about their move. Their new ready-to-wear collection, which was debuted by well-known models like Kaia Gerber and Amber Valletta, celebrated a very New York homecoming.
Denim and leather were two of the main focal points for this season's line, while the designers stayed true to their traditional palette of blacks, blues, greys and whites. Hernandez and McCollough stepped things up by mixing in different textures and juxtaposing their creations with oversized tailoring.
"I think we kind of missed New York,” Hernandez continued. And NYFW missed you too.
