NYFW: Anna Sui brings an exotic dreamworld to NYC

Updated

Full of rich colors, mixed prints and funky headwear, Anna Sui debuted her Spring 2019 collection on Monday night at New York Fashion Week.

According to Vogue, the collection was inspired by "'Kismet,' the 1955 movie with an epic grand bazaar scene." It's easy to see this inspiration come to life as each look coming down the runway was more decadent and worldly than the previous.

Thanks to several short hemlines and bodysuits, we can easily see the bohemian collection becoming a staple in any jetsetter's vacation wardrobe no matter if they are traveling to the marketplaces in Morocco, the spa terraces of Turkey or the beaches on the Greek Isles.

Our favorite looks included a metallic coral, silver and pink shift dress (finished with a coordinating turban headpiece, naturally) and a matching floral patterned set with an accompanying robe crafted in a moody color palette.

Runway queens Taylor Hill, Kiki Willems, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and Soo Joo Park walked Sui's runway, while Francis Ford Coppola, Sofia Coppola, Coco Rocha, and Naomi Campbell sat front row to watch the collection unfold.
