NYFW: Jonathan Simkhai leads us on a vintage adventure for Spring/Summer 2019

Updated

On a runway laden with lush greenery and simple florals, designer Jonathan Simkhai presented his Spring/Summer 2019 collection on Saturday at New York Fashion Week. The ready-to-wear line, the first since Simkhai's relocation to Los Angeles, took on a more ethereal vibe, evidently influenced by his move out to the west coast.

Adorned in free-flowy lace, dreamy off-the-shoulder silhouettes and piercing blushes, Simkhai's creations were reminiscent of Victorian-age fashion. The designer complemented his vintage-inspired looks with statement-making design details, such as corset-like bodices, classic hats and high-collar creations.

With forest green jumpers, camo-inspired sleeveless coats and high-waisted brown belts, Simkhai emphasized his motif. He also dabbled slightly with gingham, the boldest of patterns in this new Simkhai collection.
