NYFW: Jason Wu ventures off the runway for exquisite 2019 Spring/Summer collection

Updated

For the better part of a decade, designer Jason Wu has ventured off the runway for New York Fashion Week. The shakeup for Wu, who chose a presentation to debut his Spring/Summer 2019 line, signifies a rebranding for the beloved designer.

With an exquisite debut of 16 dresses, we welcome the new Jason Wu Collection. “It’s about 16 dresses that define who I am," explained the designer according to WWD. Stunning silhouettes hung dreamily on mannequins in an array of light hues, including whites, reds, blacks, blues and greens.

Sheer wrap creations, complemented by lace embellishments, floral prints, sophisticated Swarovski crystal embellishments and tiered ruffles reminded us of the perfection of Wu's hand, down to every last thread.

If any of the pieces look familiar to you, it's because the designer debuted the collection on Duchess Meghan a few days before. The royal blue dress caused quite the stir with the hemline, with many speculating if the 37-year-old royal was pregnant. More on that in the video above.
