TBT: What New York Fashion Week looked like a decade ago, in 2008

Updated

With another season of New York Fashion Week under a week away, studios, designers and models from all around the world are gearing up for fashion's biggest couple of days.

And in honor of the upcoming season, we're revisiting what fashion week was like a full 10 years ago.

Though the shows weren't nearly as well documented as they are now, we got a reminder of what the fashion world was like last decade, filled with forgotten celebrities, top models and the fashion trends we hope we'd never have to try again.

So what did it look like? Victoria Beckham sported 2008's hottest lopsided bob, The Hills' Audrina Partridge was at her peak, Rihanna opted for a sheer, unbuttoned shirt, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were still together and tweed miniskirts were making a comeback.

Can you say #TBT much?

For a handful years in a row, one of the shows most surprising front-row guests included Laura Bush and daughter Barbara. The former first lady attended the shows for the Red Dress Collections to promote heart health, amongst a variety of designers and A-list stars.
