NYFW: Mara Hoffman returns to her (colorful) roots for Spring/Summer 2019

Updated

Mara Hoffman returned to her roots for her Spring/Summer 2019 collection in an event filled with Kim Crawford Wine, gorgeous silhouettes and fresh-faced makeup.

Known for her colorful prints, Hoffman's latest ready-to-wear line embodied all the designer is known for: her nature-inspired designs. It's a style that has followed the designer since she graduated NYC's renowned Parsons School of Design in 2000.

Her pieces featured long silhouettes mixed in with oversized tailoring: Bold-printed dresses were emphasized by their oversized sleeves, while structured shoulders perfectly complemented menswear-inspired suits.

Meanwhile, colors ranged from basic whites and blacks to deep greens, light tans, coral reds and sunset oranges. And in true Hoffman fashion, the designs featured a dash of floral prints. Not surprisingly, the designer stayed true to her company's commitment to sustainable fashion.

"We’re not a hyperly trend-driven brand; we’re a brand that we want people to depend on and know they’re going to get really special pieces," explained the designer from last year's season. These designs evoke her message loud and clear.
