Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are in the midst of one of their busiest years yet. Between royal weddings, milestone birthdays (Beatrice turns 30 on Aug. 8), and engagements aplenty, the daughters of Prince Andrew have been nonstop.
When they aren’t standing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for events like the annual Trooping the Color ceremony, Beatrice reportedly works at U.S. technology firm Afiniti as an outsourcing strategist, while Eugenie is an associate director at the prestigious art gallery Hauser & Wirth.
So just how do they manage to juggle royal duties with everything else?

Speaking to British Vogue for the magazine’s September issue, the princesses shared their experiences as 20-somethings in the most famous family in Britain. Beatrice models a military-style jacket by Dolce & Gabbana as well as a ruffled Ashley Williams dress and Chanel brogues for the shoot, while her younger sister wears a dress and coat by Erdem and Simone Rocha lace-ups.
“It’s hard to navigate situations like these because there is no precedent, there is no protocol,” Beatrice, 29, told the magazine.“We are the first: We are young women trying to build careers and have personal lives, and we’re also princesses and doing all of this in the public eye.”
“I’m not stressed at all,” Eugenie told British Vogue of her upcoming nuptials. “It’s very nerve-wracking because you want it to be perfect, but then you realize that you’re going to be with the person you love forever and nothing else really matters.”
In terms of wedding planning, the princess revealed that one of her biggest “musts” is for the day to be entirely plastic-free.
“It’s been eye-opening,” the bride-to-be told the magazine of going eco-friendly. “My whole house is anti-plastic now — and Jack and I want our wedding to be like that as well.”
Eugenie joined Instagram in March and posts about various issues close to her heart, insights into her wedding planning process, and photos from her various official engagements.
“It’s so easy to recoil when you see a perfect image, but it’s important that it’s real. We’re real,” Eugenie asserted.
Speaking of “real,” their royalty status doesn’t mean they’re exempt from the occasional sisterly argument.
“One of the biggest fights we ever had was about a pair of Converse [sneakers],” Beatrice told British Vogue. “We have the same size feet and both of us had identical pairs. One pair got trashed and the other sister may have swapped them.”
Royals — they’re just like us!
