How Kate and William's wedding night broke royal tradition

Updated

It's no surprise that being a royal comes with a long list of rules and regulations, but it appears that some members of the royal family aren't afraid to bend the rules a little bit.

The Express reports that Duchess Kate and Prince William actually broke a royal tradition on their wedding night back in April 2011.

Reportedly, royal couples leave for their honeymoon right away on their wedding day, but Kate and William opted to spend their first night as husband and wife in Buckingham Palace instead!

This delay could be due to the fact that Prince William, who was working as a search-and-rescue pilot at the time, had to go back to work right after the wedding. The happy couple went on their romantic honeymoon to the Seychelles ten days after their televised nuptials.
