Ivanka Trump opts for pretty pink pastel to visit Bipartisan Policy Center

Taking a cue from her stepmother's style book in Europe, Ivanka Trump stepped out in a pink pastel skirt suit in Washington D.C. on Wednesday. The first daughter was on-hand to discuss her take on paid family leave at the Bipartisan Policy Center alongside United States senators and other political officials.

For the occasion, Ivanka sported a matching pencil skirt and peplum jacket, which she paired with a delicate pearl and gold brooch. Some noticed that the 34-year-old White House advisor looked "stressed" while giving her speech, possibly due to Tuesday's announcement that her designer line had been dropped by Canada's Hudson's Bay because of low performance.

Tuesday was also Arabella's birthday. While in the past Ivanka's been known to share birthday pictures on social media, there was no mention of her daughter turning 7.

The peplum look was an usual choice for Ivanka, who has been known to favor more patterned prints for her political work. Following her controversial "I don't care, do you?" jacket while visiting migrant children, Melania Trump also turned to pastels on her European trip alongside President Trump, which included a $3700 pale yellow Gucci jacket as well as a glamorous yellow caped gown by J. Mendel to meet the queen.

The New York Times points out that since the jacket incident at the border, FLOTUS' style has been noticeably "muzzled" with "low-key colors." Is Ivanka Trump making the same sartorial choice?
