Best Bites: Star cutout cake

Ingredients:

STARS

  • 1 box white cake mix

  • 3 egg whites

  • 1 cup water

  • ⅓ cup oil

  • red food colouring

  • blue food colouring

CAKE

  • 1 box white cake mix

  • 3 egg whites

  • 1 cup water

  • ⅓ cup oil

  • 32 oz vanilla frosting

  • Sprinkles

Recipe:

  1. In a bowl, combine the cake mix, egg whites, water, oil and mix.

  2. Divide the batter into two bowls. In one bowl add a few drops of red food coloring, and in the other, add a few drops of blue food coloring.

  3. Pour both batters into two seperate piping bags.

  4. In a baking pan, pipe the batter in rows alternating colors.

  5. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-20 minutes.

  6. Once cooled, using a 2-inch star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out shapes from the cake.

  7. In the meantime, prepare the other white batter by combining the white cake mix, 3 egg whites, 1 cup water and oil.

  8. Transfer the batter into a piping bag.

  9. In a cake pan, align the stars standing up back to back, and cover with white batter.

  10. Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  11. Frost cake, top with sprinkles and enjoy!
