There's a strange new conspiracy theory about Justin Trudeau's 'fake eyebrows'

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is “meek and mild,” according to a recent Twitter tirade from President Trump. The rest of the world just wants to know: What’s up with his eyebrows?

Just days after POTUS slammed rumors that first lady Melania Trump’s 26-day absence from the public eye was facelift-related, a new conspiracy theory merging the worlds of politics and beauty has gripped the internet. And it’s all got to do with Trudeau’s brows.

As BuzzFeed News reports, footage from last week’s G-7 summit has sparked speculation that the 46-year-old Trudeau — whose good looks are often compared to The Little Mermaid‘s Prince Eric — wore, erm, fake eyebrows to meet with his fellow world leaders.

The rumor can be traced to a video of Trudeau’s press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron. Trudeau’s eyebrows appear to be oddly slanted in the video, giving rise to speculation that he had slapped on fake arches that were caught slipping off.

The brow buzz reached as far as Russia; a poll conducted by broadcaster RT reportedly concluded that Trudeau — who clashed with Trump during the G-7 summit — was indeed wearing falsies.

Unfortunately for conspiracy theorists, the weird angle isn’t down to some overtweezing cover-up or a crafty, Groucho Marx-esque disguise. It’s just bad lighting — and real eyebrows.

We can thank the tireless research of these folks for putting that random rumor to rest.

But fear not, folks. If you need a new beauty mystery to solve, you can always try getting to the bottom of what Trump’s hair looks like after a shower.
