Delicious cocktails for National Rosé Day

Rosé all day! National Rosé Day is on June 9 (it's always the second Saturday in June), and there's no better way to celebrate the summer holiday than with some refreshing cocktails. 

Believe it or not, rosé is probably the oldest known type of wine, dating back as far as 600 BC. Rosé is lighter than red wine and deeper than white wine, so it's a tasty option for those who aren't fans of reds or whites.

Rich Rosé With Raspberry & Lime

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 large ice cubes
  • 2-3 zests of lime
  • A handful of fresh raspberries
  • Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé Champagne

Directions:

Place 5 ice cubes in a large wine glass, sprinkle in zests of lime and fresh raspberries, and finish with Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé

Barefoot Frosé

Ingredients:

  • 750 mL Barefoot Rosé wine
  • 2/3 cup of cranberry-raspberry juice

Directions:

Freeze rosé in large ice cube trays. Pour juice in a blender with frozen rosé cubes. Blend until smooth and serve.

Rich Rosé With Grapefruit & Rosemary

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 large ice cubes
  • 1-2 slices of grapefruit
  • 1-2 sprigs of rosemary
  • Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé Champagne

Directions:

Place 5 ice cubes in a large wine glass, add slices of grapefruit, top with Veuve Clicquot Rich Rosé, and finish with sprigs of fresh rosemary.

Red, White & Rosé

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 part Three Olives Rosé vodka
  • Club soda
  • 2 dashes of Peychaud's bitters

Directions: 

Pour vodka into a glass with ice. Top with club soda and a dash of bitters. Garnish with a grapefruit twist.

Frosé Vosé

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 part Three Olives Roseé vodka
  • .75 part lemon juice
  • .75 part grapefruit juice
  • .75 part raspberry or simple syrup
  • .75 part dry Vermouth
  • Ice

Directions:

Combine all ingredients and one cup of ice in a blender. Blend and garnish.

Mezzquiri (Created by Beautiful Booze)

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 ounces Mezza di Mezzacorona (to top)
  • 1.5 ounces white rum
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • ¾ ounce strawberry simple syrup (recipe follows)

Directions:

Combine white rum, lime juice and strawberry simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake hard to chill and combine ingredients. Fine strain into your coupe glass. Top with Mezza di Mezzacorona. Garnish & Enjoy!

Strawberry Simple Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup chopped strawberries

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a small pot. Bring to the boil while gently stirring. Once all sugar is dissolved take off stove. Allow to rest for 15 minutes while tasting intermittently until desired flavor is reached. Strain out strawberries. Refrigerate until use

Croft Pink Port Frosé 

Directions:

Pour 1 bottle of Croft Pink into ice cube trays or a plastic container. Wait 12-24 hours, when frozen (as much as 20% ABV will freeze, so it will remain slushie), combine with half as much regular ice in a blender and blend until smooth! Pour into glass of your choice and enjoy!

Rosè All Day

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Deep Eddy Vodka
  • 1 oz Rose (Hampton Water Rosè or Maddalena Rosè)
  • Chartreuse Rinsed Glass
  • Grapefruit Peel

Directions:

Add Deep Eddy Vodka and Rose to mixing glass with ice. Stir to chill. Rinse glassware with Green Chartreuse and discard. Pour martini into glass and rub the rim with the peel before resting it in the glass.

Natura Rose Strawberry Frosé

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups (or one bottle) of Natura rose wine
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 8 ounces strawberries, hulled, quartered
  • 2½ ounces fresh lemon juice

Directions:

Blend and serve. (This recipes makes enough for 4 servings)

Angry Frosé Cider

Ingredients:

  • 5 oz Angry Orchard Rose Cider
  • 1 oz White Rum
  • 0.75 oz Lime Juice
  • 2.5 tbsp White Sugar
  • 4 Strawberries
  • 2 cups Ice

Ingredients:

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Serve in a rocks glass and garnish with a strawberry. 

Sparkling Punch

Ingredients:

  • 1 750-ml bottle chilled Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé
  • 3/4 cup limoncello
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries, 1 cup quartered fresh strawberries, 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced, seeds removed

Directions:

In a large pitcher, combine the limoncello, raspberries and strawberries. Top with the chilled rosé champagne and stir in half of the lemon wheels. Pour into old-fashioned glass with ice. Place fruit in each glass and garnish with a lemon wheel, and be sure each glass contains fresh berries.

Frozé Watermelon Granita

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé
  • 1 quart watermelon-rosemary sorbet (store bought or recipe below)
  • 2 cups diced, seedless watermelon 

Directions:

Spoon a scoop of sorbet into the bottom of a chilled glass and top with a tablespoon or so of the watermelon cubes. Pour the Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé over the sorbet and melon. Garnish with mint. Serve immediately with a silver spoon.

Option:

Purchase sorbet from a gourmet market instead of making your own.

To make watermelon sorbet:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 sprigs of rosemary
  • 3 pounds seedless watermelon cut into cubes (about 10 cups)
  • ½ cup lime juice
  • ¼ cup and 2 tablespoons tequila

Directions:

In a small saucepan bring the sugar, water, and rosemary to a boil. Remove it from the heat and let it cool to room temperature, then strain. Combine the rosemary syrup, watermelon, lime juice, and tequila in a blender and process until smooth. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve and refrigerate overnight. Freeze the sorbet “granita-style” by putting it in the freezer and stirring every hour for five hours.

Ginger & Jasmine Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup simple syrup
  • 8 slices fresh ginger
  • 6 oz room temperature steeped Jasmine tea
  • 3 oz vodka (optional)
  • 1 ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • A generous splash of Santa Margherita Sparkling Rosé

Directions:

  1. Muddle the ginger and simply syrup together.
  2. Add in the tea, lemon juice, and vodka (optional).
  3. Strain over a glass and add a generous splash of Santa Margherita Sparkling Rose on top.
  4. Garnish with lemon twist

Summer's Companion

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 muddled strawberry
  • 4 oz rosé, chilled
  • 2 oz Sparkling Ice Classic Lemonade
  • Orange twist, for garnish

Directions:

Combine Campari, muddled strawberry, and rosé into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well then pour into a glass over fresh ice and top with Sparkling Ice Classic Lemonade. Garnish with the orange twist and serve.

Garden Party

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz rosé, chilled
  • 4 oz Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade
  • ½ oz honey
  • Sugar, for rim
  • Edible flowers, for garnish

Directions

In a sugar-rimmed Collins glass, combine rosé, Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade, and honey. Garnish with edible flowers and serve.

Sparkling Frosé

Ingredients:

  • ½ Bottle of Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade
  • 8 Rosé Ice Cubes
  • 1oz lemon juice
  • Mint, for garnish

Directions:

Pour rosé into an ice cube tray and place in freezer until frozen. In a blender, combine Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade, rosé cubes and lemon juice. Garnish with a mint sprig and serve.

Harry & David Rosé Spritzer

Ingredients:

  • 3 oz. Harry & David Pinot Noir Rosé wine
  • 1/2 oz. simple syrup
  • 2 strawberries, halved
  • 1 lemon wheel
  • 1 bottle club soda
  • Strawberry and mint sprigs, to garnish

Directions:

Gently muddle the strawberries and lemon wheel in a stemless wineglass so the juices and flavor are released. Add the simple syrup and rosé wine; then fill the glass with ice and top with a splash of club soda. Garnish the spritzer with a strawberry and a mint spring.
 

Harry & David Strawberry Rosé Spritzer

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 750-ml bottle Harry & David Pinot Noir Rosé wine
  • 2 cups soda water
  • 1/3 cup Aperol
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Directions:

Combine strawberries and wine in a large pitcher; cover and chill for 3 hours to infuse wine. Strain wine into a large bowl, reserving some strawberries for garnish. Return wine to pitcher. Stir in soda water, Aperol, and lemon juice. Divide among ice-filled glasses; garnish each with a lemon twist and a few reserved strawberries.
