Beyonce won't be attending the 2018 Met Gala -- here's the surprising reason why

This year's Met Gala will see the likes of Amal Clooney and Rihanna hit the steps of The Met. But there's going to be one less gown to ogle at after it was revealed that Beyonce won't be attending Monday night's event.

Instead of attending the star-studded gala, the "Formation" singer has decided to go away on a low-key vacation with husband Jay-Z. The trip was a surprise from her husband who thought she needed a little bit of R&R before their On The Run II tour begins.

The songstress was supposed to wear a custom dress designed by DUNDAS, which reportedly took weeks to make.

And while we're sad that there will be one less star on tonight's red carpet, we don't blame Beyonce for skipping this year's event altogether after she went all out for her epic Coachella performances.

While we won't be seeing Beyonce tonight, we can expect a slew of other stars to attend including Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner. For more on tonight's Met Gala, watch the video above!
