Just as your horoscope says a lot about you (if you’re into that, of course), so does your go-to cocktail. Here, the type of beverage to sip based on your star sign. Just be sure to use a coaster should Mercury go into retrograde. (And check out the top 100 cocktails of 2018 here.)

AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20-FEBRUARY 18): APEROL SPRITZ
Some people might consider you independent and eccentric, but we know that’s just code for trendsetter. You were the first to rock kitten heels, try your hand with the Instant Pot and dye your hair “root beer brown.” So naturally you’re the first to make this old-timey Italian aperitif (made with Aperol, Champagne and club soda) cool again.
PISCES (FEBRUARY 19-MARCH 20): SPIKED ARNOLD PALMER
People know you as compassionate, gentle and a little bit dreamy. Your happy place? Tinkering away on your own with your oil paints or a box of artsy old Polaroids. This sweet, refreshing and light iced tea cocktail is totally OK to sip in the late afternoon while you contemplate your next masterpiece.
You’re the type of lady who’ll stride into a bar after work (wearing a bad-ass power suit orromper), order this strong rye whiskey-based cocktail and enjoy the effect you have on everyone within earshot. Yes, of course, you’ll take it in the rocks glass—and of course you’ll have a second. After all, you like to get a little loose before you beat everyone at pool later in the night.
Practical, well-grounded and conservative (but loveably so), you’ve always gone for strong, fairly-priced and classic libations. Case in point: The iconic G&T. Want to shake things up? Go crazy and order it with mango and juniper, which draw out the botanical taste of the gin.
As an indecisive lady, you’re always changing your dinner order last minute. (What if you get a healthy salad but then have soul-crushing food envy when your husband’s burger arrives?) The story’s exactly the same at the bar. That’s why this whiskey cocktail—that’s sweet and tart and boozy and frothy––is sure to satisfy without making you feel like you’re missing out.
You’re deeply sentimental, and drawn to beverages that make you feel like you’ve entered another time and place. Enter the official drink of the Kentucky Derby. When you clasp a frosty silver glass filled with bourbon and mint in your hand, it’s easy to imagine you’re at the horse races…or by Nick Carraway’s side as he downs the coolers in the summer heat of 1922.
There’s nothing wrong with a little drama, amiright? Like when it’s your birthday and you totally tell the waiter to go ahead and put 34 candles on that tiny cupcake you see him bringing out. This red, fruity tiki drink is an order that everyone will notice. And if it just so happens to come out in a fancy halved pineapple or carved ceramic head? You won’t be complaining.
Attention to detail is one of your greatest strengths, and that’s probably why you’re your group’s de facto hostess. I.e.: Nine times out of ten, you’re the one serving the cocktails rather than ordering them. This crowd-pleasing number is a godsend: Make a big, fruity batch a few days ahead of time, and then get back to concentrating on those meticulous finger sandwiches you’ve been obsessing over.
LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23-OCTOBER 22: WHITE WINE SPRITZER
Diplomatic, gracious and social, you’re the peacekeeper in your friend group. Why? Because harmony and balance are two values that you prize above all others. You want a cocktail you can share with your friends and that won’t overpower. This delightful cooler is a total crowd-pleaser, and basically demands that you open an entire bottle of vino and invite your squad over.
People say you’re fierce…and, well, they’re not wrong. It’s probably because you know exactly what you want and you’re willing to assert yourself, calmly and cooly, obviously. If anyone can pull off four three frozen tequila drinks without losing their wallet and accidentally speed dialing their boss, it’s you, Scorp.
You want to be the person who sees every single Oscar-nominated movie. But, honestly, you find it hard to sit through a 30-minute Netflix show. That’s because while you value quality, patience isn’t your greatest virtue. Hey, no judgment. Your ideal cocktail takes seconds to make—lemonade and craft beer, dump, dump, pour—but still tastes fizzy, fruity and refreshing.
You know how to navigate white-tablecloth dinners, and you’ve mastered the art of networking while juggling a drink and an appetizer plate (your secret is discipline). Your poison of choice is something clean, crisp and classic, like a martini. With extra olives, of course.
If you're not about that plain water life, simply cut up some fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs and add it to a jug of ice water. Some of our favorite additions include lemon, cucumber, strawberries and basil.
2. Keep a bottle of water near you at all times
Sometimes, you just forget! But if you keep a glass or bottle of water in many places, it'll be a constant reminder to hydrate. We like to keep one in the car, at our desks, on our nightstands and so on.
According to a recent survey, SodaStream drinkers drink 43% more water than consumers who don't own a machine. Forget store-bought bottles and opt for this convenient, eco-friendly and affordable magical machine. We're a big fan.
Drinking? No problem. We're big enthusiasts of this rule. For every drink you have, supplement it with one glass of water. Shots included!
5. Download a water tracking app.
Track your water consumption with your phone. Apps like Hydro Coach and Water Time Pro can offer in-depth statistics on your water drinking habits. Whether you're drinking teas or eating a lot of healthy fruits, these apps take your diet and exercise into account.
6. And with that said, eat your water!
Fruits and vegetables are not only packed with great nutrients, but more water than you probably realize. Here's a breakdown of some of our favorites.
Watermelon: 92% water
Tomatoes: 94% water
Peppers: 94% water
Celery: 96% water
Cucumber: 96% water
7. Invest in a water filter
You might be more inclined to drink water if it's from a crisp, cold pitcher. Especially if you're not a fan of tap water, the Brita helps clean out murky different tastes coming from the faucet!
