Meghan Markle rehearsed drinking tea before meeting the queen: report

When you’re scheduled to have tea with royals, you practice!

Just ask Meghan Markle, Prince Harry’s soon-to-be bride: She reportedly rehearsed tea-drinking months before meeting Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The news comes from a new tell-all biography on Markle from the same author behind Princess Diana’s biography.

Multiple outlets, including US Weekly, report Markle had afternoon tea at Rose Tree Cottage in Pasadena, California last fall, where she learned all about royal protocol and etiquette. During her visit, the actress learned everything from how to bend her finger while holding the cup and saucer, as well as the proper posture.

Prince Harry and Markle later met with the queen at the crown's Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The one-hour meeting went well, said sources, and was followed by the announcement of their engagement after.

"It'll no doubt be the first of many encounters. [...] The entire weekend went well. He was able to introduce someone he loves to someone he cares for deeply," an insider said at the time.
