Melania Trump is beautiful in baby blue outfit at White House Easter Egg Roll

Updated

Melania Trump was feelin' blue for the 140th annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The first lady donned a Robin egg blue belted coat with oversized black buttons from Burberry (you can purchase your own here) to welcome thousands of families to the White House South Lawn on Monday.

Last year, Melania wore a blush pink dress designed by Herve Pierre, but she opted for a more covered-up look this time around given the chilly temperatures in Washington D.C. She completed the rest of the look with a black sweater, J. Brand trousers and boots.

Her ensemble on Monday was a stark contrast to her outfit in Florida on Easter Sunday, where she sported a red-and-white patterned Azzedine Alaïa dress which she paired with some strappy white stilettos and her signature sunglasses.

Melania was in good spirits as she took a seat in the Easter Egg Roll reading nook where she began to read to children. Press secretary Sarah Sanders took her turn early on in the reading chair, with other White House officials like the director of national intelligence Dan Coats, Secretaries Elaine Chao and Betsy DeVos and director of legislative affairs Marc Short expected to take the seat later today.

Earlier in the morning, President Trump walked out on Truman Balcony where he made a speech alongside FLOTUS and the Easter Bunny. The tradition of the costumed Easter Bunny began with a Pat Nixon staff member in 1969, according to the White House Historical Association.

This year's event will include an egg hunt, the egg-rolling race and Easter-themed crafts such as cookie decorating.
