Duchess Kate steps out for last engagement before maternity leave

The next time we see Duchess Kate, she'll be a mother of three!

The 36-year-old royal joined Prince William in East London's Stratford on Thursday to promote the upcoming Commonwealth Big Lunch. The two took the kitchen at St Luke's Community Centre in aprons, assisting in meal preparations for the event.

"I love a lot of things, curries, really do love curries. I do like fish as well, I like Italian, pasta, and pizza, really love pizza. I don't make it but the children do. I just eat," William revealed, according to The Daily Mail.

Meanwhile, Kate also discussed cooking with George and Charlotte. She explained to representatives of the center, "I have done that with George and Charlotte, making pizza dough. They love that, don't they? Because they can get their hands messy."

The Duke of Cambridge also visited the community center's gym and joined in a game of wheelchair basketball, while his wife cheered him on.

According to Kensington Palace's Twitter, the center "provides services and activities for locals, including a fully-equipped cookery school, which runs community classes on healthy, home cooking & avoiding good waste."

Kate seemed to take a cue from future sister-in-law Meghan's street style. For the event, the royal donned a pair of skinny jeans and printed blouse, paired with high heels and a cream coat by Goat. The British brand has been a recent favorite for the royal, who also donned the coat back in November and whilst pregnant with Prince George.

According to Kensington Palace, today's event marks the last before the Duchess departs for maternity leave. Duchess Kate will be back for royal duties in the fall, sources reveal.
