8 delicious cocktails for your Oscars bash

Hollywood's biggest night is upon us -- the 2018 Academy Awards -- and we think it's a perfectly good reason to throw your own party!

And while the award for Best Picture is clearly anyone's race (though "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" seems to be a front-runner), one thing is for sure -- the right cocktail can make or break your Oscars bash. 

Below are our favorite cocktails to get you in the Oscars spirit -- including the exact cocktails that'll be made at the star-studded Governor’s Ball, the Academy’s official post-Oscars celebration.

The Protagonist

1 1/2 ounces Tequila Don Julio Blanco
1/2 ounce Pimm’s The Original No. 1 Cup
3/4 ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
1/4 ounce Simple Syrup
2 ounces Tonic Water
Sliced Cucumber and Borage Flowers for Garnish

Combine Don Julio Blanco, Pimm’s, lemon juice and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice. Gently shake and roll in tonic water. Pour over fresh ice in a Collins glass. Wrap thin cucumber slice around inside of glass and top with borage flowers to garnish.

The Epilogue

1 1/4 ounces Tequila Don Julio Reposado
1/4 ounce Caffé Amaro
1/4 ounce Cocchi di Torino
Light barspoon of 2:1 Demerara Syrup
Long orange twist and fresh tarragon sprig for garnish

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir to chill and dilute. Pour over fresh ice into an Old-Fashioned Glass. Garnish with orange twist and sprig of fresh tarragon.

NOLET’S Silver Dutch 75

1 oz. NOLET’S Silver
.5 oz. Lemon Juice
.5 oz. Grand Marnier
Moet & Chandon Champagne

Pour lemon juice, NOLET’S Silver and Grand Marnier into a mixing glass with ice. Shake well. Strain into a Champagne flute. Carefully top with Champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.

Rosa is Red

5 oz. Rosa Regale
1 oz. London Dry Gin
¾ oz. Lemon juice
¾ oz. Lavender simple syrup*
½ oz. Blood orange juice
1 Strawberry, sliced
1 Orange peel, to garnish

Combine gin, lemon, blood orange and lavender simple syrup into shaking tin and fill halfway with ice. Shake for 2 seconds and strain into a wine glass with ice. Top wine glass with Rosa Regale. Drop strawberries into glass and garnish with orange peel.

*Lavender Simple Syrup: Bring one cup of water to a boil with 1 tablespoon lavender sprigs. Add 1 cup of sugar and stir until dissolved. Take off heat and let cool. Strain out lavender and refrigerate up to one week.

Pomp Fizz (Created by Zachary Taylor, Dirty Water)

1.5 oz Patrón Reposado
.75 oz Lemon Juice
.5 oz Cinnamon Syrup*
1 heaping barspoon of Pomegranate Seeds

Build in shaker, adding tequila, juice, syrup, seeds and then ice. Shake vigorously and fine strain into a champagne flute. Top with Prosecco and then drop a bar spoon of pomegranate seeds into drink. Add 1 dash of angostura bitters to float on top.

*Cinnamon Syrup
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
2 sticks Canela (Mexican cinnamon), broken into pieces

Combine sugar, water and cinnamon in a sauce pan over medium heat and simmer until sugar is completely dissolved and a prominent cinnamon flavor develops. Transfer to a glass jar and Let cool. Store in refrigerator up to one month.

The Final Cut (Created by Josh Mazza, Trademark)

2 oz Roca Patrón Silver Tequila (infused with Butterfly Pea Flower)
.5 oz Pamplemouse Rose Grapefruit Liqueur
.5 oz Pink Peppercorn and Lemongrass Syrup
.75 oz Salted Lime

Shake all but lime and strain into coup. Add lime when serving to create color-change. Garnish with orchid.

Phantom Spritz -- Inspired by "Phantom Thread"

3 oz Lillet Blanc 
1/2 oz lemon juice 
1 tsp raspberry jam  
3 oz Club Soda 
Garnish: lemon and marjoram 

Add the Lillet Blanc, lemon juice, and jam into your glass. Stir to combine. Add ice and the club soda. Finish with lemon garnish and sprigs of marjoram (or mint works too!). 

Call Me By Your Bellini -- Inspired by "Call Me By Your Name"

1.5 oz white peach puree 
1.5 Lillet rosé 
4.5 oz chilled Prosecco 

Stir in mixing glass. Pour in juice glass a la Harry's Bar in Venice and add a twist of lemon.
