Everyone's freaking out about Lucky Charms' 'magical' marshmallow addition, the first in 10 years

Updated

Brace yourselves, cereal fans. Lucky Charms is getting a brand new marshmallow.

General Mills announced Monday that magical unicorn marshmallows will be added to the colorful cereal come March. Replacing the hourglass 'mallow (or what some claim is a "pot of gold"), it's the first permanent marshmallow to be added to the iconic cereal in over ten years.

Explained Josh DeWitt, the marketing manager behind Lucky Charms: "Our goal is to not only create a cereal that families and cereal fans will love and enjoy, but to inspire magical possibilities and help spark imagination and fun no matter what the age."

The unicorn-shaped treat will join seven of the other iconic marshmallows, including hearts, stars, rainbows, red balloons, horseshoes, green clovers and moons.

Of course, Lucky Charms fanatics went wild for the sugary news.

This gives a whole new meaning to *magically delicious.*
