NYFW: Anna Sui gets romantic for Fall 2018

Updated

Anna Sui took center stage on Monday to present her colorful and print-heavy Fall 2018 line. Beloved by both Gigi and Bella Hadid, who walked in Sui's show, the veteran designer marked yet another successful fashion week.

For her most recent ready-to-wear collection, Sui engulfed magazines and the works of illustrators for inspiration. With reds, pinks and what Sui calls "taxi cab" yellows, the designer's "Beloved" production showcased Sui's favorite things: she's deemed it the most "autobiographical."

"Invariably my collection has to have a signature purple grouping too. A black and white segment in the show is inspired by the favorite early fashion illustrations of Antonio Lopez, Catherine Danzinger, Kenneth Paul Block...and especially Anne-Marie Barden, as seen in Mademoiselle Magazine," she explained in her show notes.

Dabbling with her love affair with the 60s and 70s style, Sui elaborated with eccentric red and purple lace, faux fur coats, metallic parkas, casual t-shirt dresses and Levi's jeans. Scroll through above to see all the looks from the show.
