Gisele offered a strange explanation about the Patriots' loss to her kids

Many people think that Gisele's way of comforting her children could have been handled differently.

From her comments about the use of “synthetic sunscreen” to her opinions about breastfeeding, Gisele Bündchen has attracted quite a bit of controversy over the years. After a tough loss for the Patriots during the Super Bowl, and more specifically for husband and quarterback Tom Brady, the model's method of comforting her kids has put her in the hot seat again.

According toUSA Today, following the loss, Gisele told her kids, who were extremely emotional for their dad, “Daddy won five times. They never won before. Their whole life, they never won a Super Bowl. You have to let someone else win sometimes ... We have to share. Sharing is caring.”

Romper reports that she angered a lot of people because she made it seem as though the Eagles did not deserve to win the Super Bowl and she missed the opportunity to frame the loss in a more positive way by bringing to light how both teams worked hard and that it’s OK to fail.

One person tweeted, “Gisele telling their kids, ‘You have to let someone else win sometimes:’ that's garbage parenting. Heaven forbid you teach your kids that failure happens to the best of us and that it doesn't mean the effort wasn't worth it.”

Romper also reports that although Gisele intended to teach her kids about the value of sharing, her message conveys the idea that the Patriots could have won, but they decided to “be selfless” and give someone else a chance. Shouldn’t we be teaching kids about the value of hard work?

Not only were the Eagles considered to be the underdogs of the game, but their second-string quarterback, Nick Foles, had to lead the team after their first-string quarterback injured his knee. After Foles’ post-game interview, a humble recounting of the game while holding his sweet baby in his arms, it is hard to not appreciate their effort and understand why people may see her comment as “patronizing.”

At the end of the day, both teams laid it all out on the field, and the Eagles came out with the win. Acknowledge that, Gisele.
