Dad's simple dishwasher hack will change your life forever

Updated

While loading a dishwasher efficiently can be a great help for most families, sometimes, it's more effort than need be. Constantly rearranging plates and silverware like a game of Tetris is not only time consuming, but stress-inducing as well.

Hopefully, this Irish dad's dishwasher hack will make loading a dishwasher just a little bit easier. After 10 years of living in his house, Mike McLoughlin was quite used to washing many of his dishes by hand, as he believed his appliance was unable to accommodate bigger dinner plates.

This week, however, he discovered the shelves of the dishwasher are actually adjustable. Uh, what?

"I moved into this house in 2008. It always annoyed me that the lower level of the dishwasher wasn’t tall enough to fit my biggest dinner plates. Been handwashing them all this time. This week I discovered you can raise the upper shelf and all my plates fit fine. TEN F****** YEARS!" he wrote.

If you knew of this epic kitchen hack, then we commend you. However, it seems the now-viral tweet, which has reached than 3 million people, is amazing many, forever changing the way they do their dishes.

Thanks, Mike, for making the post-dinner clean-up tonight not nearly as dreadful.
