Joanna Gaines' baby clothes storage idea is too sweet not to steal

This sure beats stuffing everything in a plain box in the attic.

Leave it up to domestic goddess and "Fixer Upper" star Joanna Gaines to come up with an adorable way to tackle baby clothing storage.

In an Instagram story posted a few days ago, the mom of four showed that she keeps special pieces from when each of her children was a baby in what looks to be clear, plastic, zip toiletry cases, POPSUGAR Momsreports. "I finally packed my favorite baby clothes and shoes for each kid," she writes as a caption. Not only that, Joanna included an additional item: "I wrote them a note for later in case they are sentimental like their mama. #storiesfromtheattic #stillhere."

It appears Joanna had a very good reason to finally pick out her favorite baby clothing recently. Just days after posting the story, she and husband Chip announced via social media—through one hilarious baby bump photo—that they were expecting another child. Currently, the couple has two sons and two daughters—Drake, 12, Ella Rose, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 7, according to Country Living—so we can imagine they have tons of onesies, tiny shoes and other infant clothing items that they might want to go through to reduce clutter or pass to their new bundle of joy.

Although Joanna's storage practice may not be for everyone—the most sentimental moms might want to keep as many items as possible from their kid's infancy—it's certainly a great idea for parents who want to keep only a few pieces for each kid and toss out the rest. Plus, adding the message is a sweet touch—it makes sorting everything less of a chore and more of a walk down memory lane for the mom, and it makes going through the baby clothes more meaningful for the children who will eventually grow up and stumble upon them.
