With just a few weeks after the start of the new year, most people are giving up on their New Year's resolutions, losing motivation and retreating back to old habits. But not Jerimiah Peterson.
The dad of three, from Montana, became a viral sensation after it was revealed his epic weight loss journey included gaining a six-pack in just six months. After weighing in at over 280 pounds, Peterson realized he needed to make a change if he wanted to keep up with his kids.
"We have always been an active family but when we were hiking, my young kids were going right up the mountain while I was catching my breath and couldn't keep up," he said, according to the Daily Mail. And after being diagnosed with an intolerance to gluten, he had to kick his fast food and beer habit.

I woke up tired today.
I wanted to sleep in and not get out of my warm bed today. But it just didn’t feel right not to get up and get my hike and gym session in.
So I got my butt out of bed and made myself get up. Now I feel #100% better!!!

👉🏼Today marks 169 days of my Transphormation and Everyone keeps asking me how I’m gonna celebrate my win. .
At the gym they keep asking me when I’m gonna kick back and take a day off. .
I just shake my head.
👊🏻Because I’m not ready to celebrate. .
I’m not done. .
I feel like I just began. .
I have so much more to ingrain in my psyche and mindset and routines so that I can keep succeeding.
Not just on a physical level.
But I’m all areas of my life.
The money was definitely a blessing...no doubt about that.
But I’m not going to waste it.
I want to invest it wisely so that financially I can keep winning from that part of the win.
I still have bigger goals for where I want to take my physical routines.
Routines and habits that become so ingrained that I never fall back to where I was before. .
I want to keep learning. .
I want to keep growing. .
I want to keep running the race as if there is no finish line.
I feel like I’ve gotten to this place that I never thought it was even possible.
I thought I was too old.
I thought this isn’t my time anymore.
But then I made that decision back at the end of July... and I kept working at it.
I kept proving to myself that I could.
Now I feel even more hungry and inspired to keep chasing the next win, to keep learning, to keep growing, to keep reinventing and to keep creating. -I’ve got a lot more to prove.

Part of why I keep making these side by sides is because I want my daily wins to be more powerful.
I think so often people believe that there is a finish line.
That once you pass that invisible thresh hold that your world will stay that way, that your bank account will stay at a great number, that you won’t have to think about staying in shape anymore, that you won’t have to think about making your wife fall in love with you everyday like the first day, that you won’t have to keep striving.
But that’s bull crap.
I want to remember how easy it was to slide down to that and that I have to DO THE WORK to be in the best shape of my life daily.
Yes I have goals for later in the year but I have to focus on today.
By remembering everyday where I came from and tell myself daily I’m not going back.
It would have been really easy to slide into Christmas and New Years just like I always have.
But I want more.
So no days off.
Stay active. Stay hungry.
This isn’t just a physical transformation for me.
I have some things that I have to do.
It’s what I wake up thinking about.
What I fall asleep dreaming about.
It’s what I want to fight for and NEVER fall back into a timid place of complacency and acceptance.
Because God knows I am thankful for all I have.
But He also put me here to be great.
To provide in more ways than I have for my family.
To push the envelope in our businesses.
To proof every enemy, well meaning friend and family member wrong.
That there can be more.
That I have more to give and do.
And it all starts with what I do today.
And each day.
To tally it up to a HUGE win.

When you look at this picture on the left you may see a Transphormation that was done to perfection! .
What do I see???
Stretch marks and loose skin are what I see and you don’t. I went from size 42 jeans down to size 33 so I knew it was impossible not to get them!
I see where more work has to be done.
I see reminders that may never fully go away.
Reminders of how fat I allowed myself to get. .
Never again. .
I’m okay with the fact that they may never fully go away.
I want those reminders of a battle. #battlescars
A battle that I lost that fueled me to get to a war that I am winning.
We have the choice to see our lives, our struggles, our flaws as something negative or something powerful. .

When I signed up for this transphormation challenge it wasn't with just an end goal in mind. .
I wanted to take my life back. .
I know it will sound cliche but the line "get busy living or get busy dying" from Shawshank Redemption kept repeating in my head. .
I'm going to be 40 in a couple months. .
I have some huge goals left to reach and expand beyond in this life. .
I knew I wouldn't even touch on so many of those if I kept up the lifestyle I was living. .
I was tired of being tired. .
I got so freaking tired of feeling like I was selling myself short. .
What motivated me then? .
It's our reasons that push us past our comfort zones. .
Not just mere motivation. .
Motivation fades. .
But powerful enough reasons will push us to move mountains. .
Usually that mountain is our own self. .
When I signed up for this transphormation yes I wanted to gain my confidence back, feel healthy, be around for as many years as I can for my kids.... .
But beyond I want to keep shattering the glass roof. .
I want to know what will happen when I push far beyond my comfort zone. .
This is just the beginning. .

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👉🏼People have been asking me what my nutrition has been in order to achieve my results in the last 150 days.
I am an open book.
And I want to share so here it is...
I am a carnivore through and through.
Born and raised in Montana hunting and having a freezer full of venison which is naturally all grass fed for my family's healthy eating habits.
My nutrition for the last 150 days closely followed the keto diet guidelines but I like to keep my protein a little higher than what a true keto diet calls for.
Proteins I mainly kept to elk, deer, extra lean ground turkey, chicken & turkey breasts, salmon and white fish.
I kept my fats high with avocado, coconut oil, grass fed butter, olive oil and almond butter.
I tried to keep my carb intake relatively low.
Riced sweet potatoes and cauliflower were in almost every meal. I just varied the amount and timed my intake according to my workouts.
For greens I ate primarily asparagus, green beans, broccoli and brussel sprouts.
If I felt hungry, I ate.
I didn't feel restricted at all.
I didn't track my macros it was just a trial and error process that I watched closely by weighing in every day and taking tons of selfies to see what was working and what wasn't. But that also doesn't mean I would switch it up right away if I didn't see immediate results. I trusted the process of doing the work and seeing how my body responded.
I know this diet isn't for everyone but it's what worked for me. I will continue to eat like this for the foreseeable future.

"The from drinking two beers a night and on the weekend having sugary desserts, carbs and processed foods my weight kept adding up," he asserted.
Peterson took to a program called 'Transphormation' to help align his goals, meal plans and fitness regime. The site also allowed him to earn cash prizes for hitting his goals, an extra plus. He adopted a keto diet and now spends 3 hours exercising every day, whether it's hiking or at the gym.
"I'm really proud of my stomach, my belly used to be a real beer gut but it's going down and even my waist is slimming down too," he explained. His extreme lifestyle change saw such quick results, including a dramatic 80-pound weight-loss since he began the journey in August.
