Golden Globe Awards 2018: Best of beauty

Updated

And awards season is off!

The annual Golden Globe Awards were held Sunday night in Los Angeles, honoring the past year's accomplishments on both the big and small screen. This year's awards show saw its fair share of memorable moments, from Seth Meyer's shade-filled monologue to Oprah's rousing acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille award, multiple standing ovations and all.

Of course, given the nature of last night's show, we can't merely skip straight to the awards ceremony. On the red carpet, Hollywood's women and men came together in black for #TimesUp to fight against sexual harassment and abuse, specifically in the workplace.

It wasn't just the all-black attire that made a statement, it was the makeup too. It was the bold lips, a "timeless symbol of empowerment," the fierce smoky shadows, wild waves and an unforgiving cat eye that added to the message.

Our favorite of the night included "13 Reason's Why" Katherine Langford, who was nominated for her role as a suicidal teen subjected to sexual abuse and bullying. Fastening her long locks with a constellation of star-shaped hairpins, and complementing the look with a dramatic smoky eye, Langford matched the mood of the night in a perfect manner.

Other standouts include Zoe Kravitz's bold lips, Millie Bobbie Brown's subtle braid and Viola Davis' natural hair. Scroll through above for the best glam moments from last night's Golden Globes.
