And they lived happily ever after!

Kensington Palace released three photographs from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's official engagement photo shoot, and the images look straight out of a fairy tale. The romantic snapshots were photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, who has shot everyone from Julia Roberts to Angelina Jolie.

The portraits are a refreshingly warm departure from more formal royal engagements snapshots of the past. Two of the black-and-white images show Meghan and Harry flaunting their love in a candid manner at Frogmore House, a private royal residence in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

And Meghan definitely lived up to her reputation as one of the most fashionable women in the world, wearing a $75,000 Ralph & Russo gown. The British-made dress from the Fall 2016 couture collection features a tiered tulle skirt and a see-through bodice decorated with intricate leaf embellishment.

While it's clear why Meghan chose the show-stopping number, a sheer gown was the last thing that many would expect her to wear! For her engagement photos with Prince William, Duchess Kate kept it a bit more modest in a white Reiss dress that hit just above the knees.

Could her unconventional Ralph & Russo number be a sign that her wedding gown also won't stick to tradition? Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that the royal family asked Israeli designer Inbal Dror to provide a sketch of a potential wedding dress for Markle.

The designer is known for creating sexy dresses with low-cut necklines and tight-fitting silhouettes.
