The one rule Kate Middleton must follow at Meghan and Harry’s wedding

Now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced their engagement, the world is gearing up for another royal wedding—and you don’t see us complaining in the slightest. So far, we’ve got the scoop on the precious story behind the ring, the date and venue (May 2018 in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, in case you were wondering), and even why Meghan won’t technically be called a princess.

But as much as we love Meghan, she will never oust Kate Middleton as the royal family’s fashion icon, in our eyes. The Duchess of Cambridge wowed us on her own wedding day with two (yes, two!) gorgeous dresses, after all. So, what we’re really dying to know is: What will Kate wear when she watches her brother-in-law say “I do”?

While most of us can only speculate as to Kate’s choice of ensemble come May, there is one staple we know she’ll be wearing. Every royal woman—including the Duchess herself—must wear a hat when appearing at official events. Translation? We’re willing to bet Kate will top off her look with some gorgeous head decor. (And speaking of hats, you’ll want to steal her easy trick for repeating outfits.)

It seems like there’s nothing this mom can’t pull off, so we have no doubt that whatever she comes up with for the ceremony will be flawless. But we can predict Kate’s fashion choices in other ways, too. The Duchess of Cambridge has a habit of stealing some style tips from her mother-in-law, Princess Diana. Here’s hoping Meghan Markle follows suit!
