Holiday Heroes: Christmas with the Charleston animal society

We're dedicating this episode of Holiday Heroes to man's best friend.

The Charleston Animal Society has made finding homes for animals its mission for nearly 145 years. The no-kill community helps rehabilitate nearly 9,000 cats and dogs every year -- but its yearly "Home for the Holidays" project is really what makes this South Carolina shelter stand out.

The adopted animals are delivered to their new homes like Santa's elves on both Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Watch the video above to learn more about their incredible work.
