Giada De Laurentiis gave Prince William this one important ‘pizza’ advice

One upon a time, Prince William confided in the queen of calzones for guidance on how to perfect his imperfect lasagna recipe to serve to the fairest lady in all the land.

In 2011, Giada De Laurentiis was bestowed the prestigious honor of cooking a meal for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at the Foundation Polo Challenge. Cut to 2017, and De Laurentiis finally revealed how she helped the young prince impress Kate Middleton with his big saucy lasagna ... recipe.

During the event, William opened up to De Laurentiis about his lasagna woes and admitted he tried to cook the dish for Middleton but failed miserably. So, the Italian cuisine maven offered him a crucial piece of advice to take his lasagna game from mush to royally exquisite. She said, “You’ve got to make sure that you have enough sauce to get a nice crust on top and you’ve got to let it sit before you cut into it. It has got to set, otherwise it’ll just be a pool of mess.”

If Prince William ever needs taste testers, he knows where to find us.
