Melania Trump makes unexpected style move in Michael Kors dress

Updated

Melania Trump took a page from Duchess Kate's style book by repeating an outfit for an event in New York City on Wednesday.

Melania sported a Michael Kors powder blue sheath dress to host a lunch for the Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation. If you recall, she first wore the striking look to meet Panama's first lady back in June.

The first lady seems to gravitate towards the sophisticated hue. Back in January for President Trump's inauguration, she wore one of her most memorable looks to date -- a custom Ralph Lauren getup in the pastel color.

She polished off her look with a Céline coat draped over shoulders and Manolo Blahnik stilettos. Her highlighted, brunette tresses were styled in its usual blowout while the only signs of makeup on her face were the gloss on her lips.

Though Melania continues to drop jaws with her pricey ensembles, like a $1,380 Balmain flannel shirt she wore while gardening, her latest style move is completely unexpected. Unlike Duchess Kate, who is no stranger to repeating outfits, Melania seemingly opts for the one-and-done mindset when it comes to her ensembles.

Duchess Kate has stepped out time and time again in outfits she has been previously photographed in, with many claiming that her inclination for wearing outfits multiple times -- and even wearing clothes from brands that won't break the bank -- is proof that she's relatable and down to earth.

In recent weeks, Melania has stepped up her casual style, proving that she's not just all about dresses and stilettos. She truly proved that she's mastered the art of casual style in a $695 Calvin Klein ensemble that she sported after a weekend at Camp David.
