Updated

Naming your bundle of joy is a big responsibility for parents. The Social Security Administration just released the top baby names from 2016 by state and a few surprising names took the top spots.

See the top baby names by state:

Names that end in “ah” are all the rage for little girls, with Ava, Olivia, Emma, Mia, and Isabella being favorites in most states. The only exception was Harper, like the Beckingham palace princess.

For boys, 'old school' is now 'new school' with Liam, Noah, and Oliver all making the list. If you live in the Southeast part of the U.S., William was the most popular name.

The good news is that most of these names only have one spelling.
