NYFW 2017: Victoria Beckham embraces brilliant color in vibrant Spring/Summer 2018 collection

Updated

Come springtime, Victoria Beckham wants to see color -- and lots of it.

The designer went wild with the paintbrush for her Spring/Summer 2018 collection, creating a vibrant collection of standout shades. Pinks, lavenders, and teals made appearances, but two lipstick-red numbers reminded the crowd that no young designer commands respect quite like Victoria Beckham.

Although nearly every look is worth a writeup, highlights include a pink-on-pink blouse and pants ensemble, a sexy black spaghetti strap midi, and powerful checkered coats. Take note, too, of the contrast-colored stilettos: Instead of relying on neutral blacks and nudes, Beckham upped the drama with lavender and seafoam and footwear.

"Recently I've been wearing much more colour myself," Beckham told the Telegraph. "It's finding a new take on color, and that's why I love these, whether you call them Play-doh, sherbet, ice cream colours - but they're not too sugary, not too sweet."

Seated front row were husband David Beckham and son Brooklyn Beckham, both of whom posted online about the exciting event. "Very proud," wrote Brooklyn, who recently started college at New York's Parsons School of Design.

Beckham launched her fashion label less than a decade ago, but it quickly became a Fashion Week staple, garnering attraction from countless famous fans.
