Prince George's new teacher Helen Haslem sets internet ablaze

Updated

All eyes were on Prince George as he began his first day of school on Thursday. And while we still can't get over the adorable photos of the nervous prince, there's one person who stole the spotlight from the heir to the British throne -- his teacher Helen Haslem.

The Head of Lower School at Thomas's Battersea greeted the 4-year-old tyke and his father Prince William on Thursday morning. Haslem shook hands with George as the two walked hand-in-hand with William taking the young boy's other hand.

Haslem dazzled in front of the paparazzi, wearing a dusty pink dress from L.K. Bennett -- Duchess Kate's go-to label -- that hit just above the knees. Intentional or not, many noted that the sophisticated frock bore a striking resemblance to an outfit that Kate wore in 2014. During a visit to Australia, Princess Kate wore a pale pink wool suit by Alexander McQueen.

The teacher polished off her look with a pair of flats -- perfect for all the walking she will undoubtedly do on the first day of school -- and minimal silver accessories. She kept her makeup light and her long blonde tresses in a low, tight bun.

Many took to social media to point out how gorgeous George's new teacher is.

"Is anyone else just obsessed with how pretty Prince George's new head teacher is #HelenHaslem," one person wrote on Twitter.

Another person confirmed that Haslem is indeed married, while posting a zoomed in photo of a wedding ring on her finger: "Sorry folks ... the extremely attractive teacher who took Prince George in for his first day of school, is married."

Unfortunately, as sources revealed on Wednesday, Duchess Kate wasn't able to accompany George on his big day. The 35-year-old mother to Princess Charlotte and George is currently pregnant with baby No. 3 and is suffering from severe morning sickness.

The condition, known as Hyperemesis gravidarum, affects about one in every 200 pregnancies and results in severe nausea, dehydration, and low blood pressure.
