NYFW: Tom Ford's Spring 2018 collection features bold shoulders and sequins galore

Updated

Tom Ford truly started New York Fashion Week off with a bang.

The designer debuted his Spring 2018 collection in front of a star-studded crowd -- with the likes of Kim Kardashian and Cindy Crawford sitting front row -- at the Park Avenue Armory. The location was the perfect setting to unveil his bold, glamorous and sexy collection.

Famed American model Binx Walton got the top honor of opening and closing the show. She emerged to David Bowie's "Fame" dressed in a golden-shorts suit with a chain mail top and pink stilettos. For her last look, she sported a languid gown with sequined sleeves.

Ford isn't one to shy away from sex appeal, and his latest collection proved just that. Pantless models dressed in sequined tunics with pops of color, like cobalt and yellow, adorned the runway. A high-cut nude bodysuit, showing a hint of pelvic bone and clavicle, paired with super slouchy trousers also made quite a few heads turn.

A number of high-profile models -- Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Joan Smalls, to name a few -- looked barely unrecognizable in their ensembles.

Hadid rocked a dusty pink-hued gown with dramatic shoulder pads. Are the '90s making a comeback? According to Ford -- yes! Meanwhile Jenner and Smalls strutted down the catwalk in dramatic black gowns with that similar shoulder pad detailing.

Ford's Spring 2018 show was clearly the talk of the town, with celebrities and fashion's elite alike posting videos and photos on social media. Kardashian's appearance definitely made headlines, showing up with a new 'do -- icy blonde locks! -- while rocking a curve-hugging latex dress hours after announcing that she and husband Kanye West are expecting baby No. 3 via surrogate.
