Queen Rania of Jordan surprised pediatric patients this past weekend while visiting a hospital in Jordan's capital city of Amman.
The Al Abdullah Hospital for Children opened in 2010 by King Abdullah and the Queen, who oversaw the facility's development. The hospital prides itself in being "the Kingdom's first and only specialty pediatric surgery institution in Jordan," featuring nearly 25 specialties, explained The Jordan Times.

BACK TO SLIDE
For this weekend's visit, Rania joined many of the hospital's patients for the "Beyond the Museum" program, a project initiated by the Children's Museum of Jordan. According to The Daily Mail, the program "seeks to foster children's scientific abilities by bringing hands-on learning to patients."
Initiated at various hospitals and refugee camps, the program has served nearly 900 children through its different projects.
The Queen spent hours at the hospital, sitting with the children and participating in the program -- but for the more ill-patients who were unable to leave their rooms, she sat by their bedsides.
Dressed in a crisp white blouse, black culottes and a studded belt, Rania went room-to-room to spend time with the sick children and their parents.
The Queen, dubbed "The Queen of Kindness" or the "Queen of Hearts," has dedicated many of her royal endeavors to helping children. She's been particularly vocal about ISIS, the country's refugee status and education reform.
On her most recent visit to the United States, she visited a local school with FLOTUS Melania Trump -- more on that in the video above.
