New poll reveals Prince Charles is the most hated member of the royal family

Updated

The people have spoken! The royal family favorite? Prince Harry.

Between his swoon-worthy accent and his handsome features -- what's not to love?! But clearly he didn't inherit his likability from his dad, Prince Charles.

A new poll by YouGov suggests that Prince Charles isn't a fan favorite -- only 36% think he's had a positive impact on the monarchy, down from 60% in 2013. In fact, 9% think he's had a negative impact but that's only slightly up from 6% in 2013.

This new poll comes just ahead of the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death, which may have something to do with the negative views toward the royal. Experts suspect the Brits just haven't forgiven Charles for his failed marriage to Diana.

If you recall, Charles began an affair around 1978 or 1979 with his now-wife Camilla while still married to Diana. Charles and Diana separated in 1992 and officially got divorced in 1996. However, a recently published book, "Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of an Improbable Life," revealed that there was trouble in paradise as early as their honeymoon.

In all fairness, thoughts on the royal family as a whole are down. Duchess Kate was at 81% in 2013 and is now at 73%. Still, Prince Williams is at 78% approval and Harry is at 77%.

Prince Charles' 36% approval rate is incredibly telling. Camilla is at just 18% and a third think she shouldn't have a title once Prince Charles becomes king. Poor Charles.

But the bigger question is where does Meghan Markle fit in?
