Nothing says New England in the summer quite like a crab cake. There's nothing like the combination of big sweet morsels of crab paired with a crunchy golden crust of bread crumbs. Eating them always feels like a treat. Especially because they're not the easiest thing to make, and especially when you're making them for a crowd. Who wants to form a million little patties?
No longer! Crab cake dip is here to make crab cakes for a crowd a [sea] breeze! This dip is chock-full of all the things that make crab cakes great. It's got mozzarella, parm, and cream cheese, so it's super creamy. The addition of tartar sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and dijon give it some classic New England flavor. It gets a spicy kick from Tabasco (but you can substitute any hot sauce you're fond of) and a little brightness from the juice of half a lemon. It's a good balance of everything you want in a dip, plus plenty of crab.
The best part of this dip though, is the topping. Panko breadcrumbs get mixed with melted butter, Parmesan, and Old Bay (the OG seafood spice mix) for a crunchy, salty topping that will have you going back for more dips even after you've finished the last Ritz.
