Melania Trump leaves critics divided with bold, bright yellow dress

FLOTUS Melania Trump accompanied her husband, President Donald Trump, to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House on Monday -- and her dress of choice left critics divided.

While a handful of outlets simply commented on the first lady's fashion "departure" and insisted she looked "fabulous," others questioned whether or not the bold color and print was "appropriate" for the official meeting. "While the bold yellow is certainly on trend for summer," Mirror Online commented, "it's possibly more appropriate for a garden party than a formal meeting."

The yellow gown in question is an Emilio Pucci belted floral-print crepe gown, and it retails for $1,750. While not inexpensive, the price tag is a far cry from the $51,500 jacket FLOTUS donned in late May.

Melania's fashion also took center stage this past weekend, when she wowed in a millennial pink J.Mendel gown at the Secretary of the Treasury's wedding.
