Woman shares genius way she makes sure people aren't afraid of her 'scary dog'

The struggle to explain to strangers that your "scary dog" is actually super friendly is real -- but luckily one woman seems to have found the secret.

Reddit user tricksy_trixie posted a photograph of her sister's German Shepherd to share how her sister has totally changed the way people react to him.

"My sister's gentle giant German Shepherd wears a bow tie everywhere because it makes people less intimidated and afraid of him," she wrote.

Tricksy_trixie's wrote that her sister found if her dog, Rome, is wearing a bowtie, no one is afraid of him.

"People would actually say hello to him or call him over to pet him instead of recoiling in fear," she wrote. "So now he wears the bow tie all the time and looks friendly and dapper AF."
