Summer's hottest European destinations revealed


When it comes to summer travel most Americans think Europe!

That's according to a new report out by the travel site lonely planet.

But if you think it's all London and Paris, the top of the list may surprise you.

Zagreb Croatia, and not that Croatia that has college students partying on the coast for two weeks.

10. Barcelona, Spain

Lonely Planet reports this city has not to be missed cafes, street art, and neo-gothic architecture.

Plus it has a new airport terminal that is supposed to making getting to and from there a lot easier.

Gotland, Sweden is also on the list for its medieval town of Visby which happens to be a UNESCO world heritage site.

Music lovers should head to Northern Germany where Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie concert hall just opened.

Alentejo in Portugal also tops the list thanks more investments into the city's tourism. There's also a chapel made of bones.

Le Havre in France will be celebrating its 500th anniversary with months of celebrations that will include art, music, and parades.

So avoid being the basic traveler.

You know the type. The person whose Instagram looks like everybody else's because they're all going to the same place.
