Lucky Charms to give away 10,000 marshmallow-only boxes of cereal

Updated

For those who think there's no use for the oat cereal in Lucky Charms, your dream has just come true.

In 2015, General Mills gave away 10 boxes of "Marshmallow Only" Lucky Charms. On Monday, the company announced that they are giving away just a few more again ... 10,000 to be exact.

That's a ton of marshmallows -- but you won't find them in stores. Instead, General Mills is releasing special boxes of regular old Lucky Charms with a code. Customers then go to MarshmallowsOnly.com, put the code in and hope that they are one of the lucky 10,000 winners.

"Fans of Lucky Charms are obsessed with our marshmallows," Priscilla Zee, senior marketing manager, said in the press release. "We were overwhelmed with calls, e-mails, and tweets last year, asking for a box of our Lucky Charms marshmallows. So this year we wanted to give them even more opportunities to win."

"Our marshmallows are one of kind," Priscilla continued. "Fans know each shape by name and many have a favorite charm."

For those rabid fans, this is their chance to get as many marshmallows as their heart desires. If you don't win, don't worry -- you can go back to picking out the marshmallows like you always do.
