This is the No. 1 place people want to go before they die

Hawaii is the top place people want to visit while they're still kicking.

That's according to a new study from AARP, which found that travel landed on most people's bucket lists.

The company looked at a bunch of different age groups but was most interested in what baby boomers had to say.

18 percent of boomers picked Hawaii as their top spot, which makes sense when you consider the beaches, ocean views and year-round warm weather.

In fact, a recent study found that people living in Hawaii are the happiest of any state.

Alaska, California and New York also made the cut.

Boomers said having a mental bucket list of places to visit gives them something to look forward to.

Another takeaway from the study is that nearly half of all bucket list trips focused on the destination, as opposed to a specific activity or attraction at their destination.

Of course! You know the old saying, "Life is a journey, not a destination. Except for Hawaii because that place rocks."
